How processing works

The browser draws the image on a canvas and requests WebP output from its built-in encoder. Transparent pixels remain transparent.

Supported formats

Input: JPG, JPEG, PNG. Output: WebP.

Limitations

Very old browsers may not provide WebP encoding. Animation and most metadata are not retained.
