Compress Image to Target Size

Aim for a specific KB limit using bounded quality and resolution searches.

Choose an image

JPG, PNG and WebP · 25 MB max

How to use it

  1. Choose an image and set the target size in KB.
  2. Run the bounded search for quality and dimensions.
  3. Review the difference, then download the result.

Good for

  1. Meet application upload limits
  2. Prepare profile photos
  3. Fit images under CMS restrictions

How processing works

A bounded binary search tests image quality. If quality alone is insufficient, dimensions step down before another search. Iterations and minimum quality are capped.

Supported formats

Input: JPG, PNG, WebP. Output: JPG for opaque images or WebP for transparent images.

Limitations

A tiny target may be impossible without severe quality loss. Results are kept as close as practical without an endless search.
